Joan, the heart and soul of APA Solutions, has spent three decades representing growth companies identify, retain, and develop talent. But as new technologies emerged and a fickle economy worsened, Joan watched employers and employees drift farther and farther apart. While most recruiting professionals resumed traditional methods for filling roles, Joan began challenging the status quo in order to get to the root of the issue.
She has made it her mission to embark on a self-directed educational journey in order to better understand how to leverage workforce behaviors and motivators in a way that breeds success and innovation. Since then, she has become an advisor to both growth companies and their respective staff members in an effort to bridge the gap and heal old wounds. From small mom-and-pop shops to international conglomerates, Joan’s holistic approach to the talent management process has caused exponential growth in her clients’ revenue goals, production levels, and retention rates.
Because of the overwhelming demand for professional guidance, she recently founded a successful coaching startup, Career Reform – which helps job seekers build sustainable careers – and published her first book, No More Bad Advice. Whether she’s traveling as a keynote speaker, attending another neuroscience course to better understand employer-employee dynamics, or writing for The Buffalo News, Joan’s passion remains the same: to get employers and working /nonworking professionals speaking the same language again.
